Coyote Automated Packing System
A system for a power line parts splicing kits manufacturer in Rogers, AR, receives download of products and BOM from their corporate AS400 to the plant floor PC. The system drives six 8’ Smart Frames, 82 bins each, with stationary bar code scanners positioned below the conveyor at each frame. Scan of the carton at the first Smart Frame initiates the picking operation. Via data from the scanner, the Smart Product Controller communicates assembly progress back to the PC, and interfaces with the Smart Frame to illuminate the appropriate bins and control the picking process. The PC provides notification back to the mainframe as each order is completed. Multiple orders can be in process at any time, and the system is capable of remembering the stage of each assembly in the event of a restart.
