Hydraulic Pump Line
A manufacturer of hydraulic pumps and motors in Lawrence, Kansas, has two large assembly lines with Smart Frames as integral parts of the operation. The system uses Allen-Bradley PLCs with a DeviceNet network connecting the Smart Product Controllers. Assembly data moves with each assembly via RF tags. The Allen-Bradley PLC reads the RF tag, formats assembly data into command strings and sends it via DeviceNet to the Smart Product Controller. The Smart Product Controller notifies the Allen-Bradley PLC via DeviceNet upon completion of the pick sequence.
