Automotive Instrument Panel Line
A tier-one automotive supplier in Sweden integrated Smart Frames into a line producing 40 different variations of instrument panels for MAN and Mercedes trucks. Before Smart technology was integrated, the panels had a takt time of 3 minutes. Now it has been reduced to 90 seconds, a 100% output increase. This line won the Swedish Mastership for assembly and saved 40 jobs. Manufacture of these instrument panels was destined for Lithonia. However, due to the productivity increases afforded by Smart Frame Systems, there was no need to move manufacturing to an area with lower labor costs.
